I have a 10" silver arowana who hasn't been eating the past few days. He usually eats any and or every food item I put in the tank.

Nitrites are at 0
Nitrates are high at around 50-60. ( I'm going to do a WC soon to remedy this.)

He's been swimming down low towards the bottom of the tank and yesterday he let out a long stringy poop. I'm thinking he might have some sort of internal parasite.

I've just put him in a 4' long 45g hospital tank. I've put in a small amount of jungle Parasite clear and some epson salt. I read that epson salt helps if the fish is constipated. I've read that it actually helped another silver aro.

Wish me luck. He seems to be swimming at the top of the hospital tank now. I hope that this remedy works.

I just read a bunch of threads about something called ascites (sp?) and how it starts off with stringy poop. I hope your arowana gets better though!
