Where Palm Trees Grow
I just got my first Silver Arowana two days ago and he won't eat at all!!! Hes being moved to the 125g I'm getting either this week or next week. Hes in my 30g at 3.5" and hes got plenty of room, But I've tried to feed him twice and he won't even look at it, I tried to feed him Freeze Dried Bloodworms, Cichlid Pellets, And Freeze Dried Krill. I'm getting a bit worried that he might not eat for awhile, Is this normal for Aro's or is something wrong? Hes my favorite fish I've ever gotten because I've wanted an Aro for awhile and I could never get a decent sized tank for him.

he might just be getting adjusted to the tank. is the arowana housed with anything else?

Nope hes alone, He had a bad experience with my Flowerhorn when I got him so I put him in a tank by himself.

try frozen blood worms and beef heart...

Did you think to ask what it was eating at the LFS? Did you see it eat at the LFS? I've never had a baby aro turn down freeze dried bloodworms within the first few days. Maybe it was injured when you put it in with the flowerhorn. You should always research before buying fish.

Ya know I never asked what they were feeding it, I'll call and ask later I guess I was just too excited about my first Aro lol.

if all else fails and its not stress related i'll take live crickets/mealworms, but good luck conveting it back.. if you do go that route best advice is to feed live bugs crushed cichlid gold for few days before letting the aro at em, then try goin straight to pellets after crickets....

That's what I was thinking, It's really irritating how almost all LFS feed fish live that are really difficult to get off live, Then they wont eat frozen or freeze dried and get a disease from a random goldfish or guppy...
