Silver aro or black aro.

Silver arow are a dime a dozen. Can be had in any lfs. A black/blue arowana is not rare but more expensive due to colors.

Pros and Cons are the price pretty much. The black/blue arowana are a little bit smaller than the silvers but by not much.

Also all black/blue arows are mainly all wild caught and silvers are mainly farm raised.

Price for silver is cheap lets say 50$ for a juvenile and a Black/Blue is 300$+

Big pro for black aro is no drop eye. Also more slender, guess that could be a con if you like the chunkier silhouette. Resale value is higher on the blacks, sometimes can't even give away large silvers.

I have a silver and a Leichardti. Hands down the silver is the coolest fish I've ever owned. Eats everything likes to get it head scratched and is very mellow and calm. They are relatively inexpensive and more bang for the buck. If they were less common people would be crawling all over themselves to own one, ya know the grass is always greener the more money you spend ;)

I've always learned the grass is only as green as you water it so if the grass isn't green where are now it'll turn brown wherever you go

Both are large beautiful fish. I've found them to be nearly identical in growth rate, size etc. After they mature they only have a slight difference in color. I've owned more silvers than blacks but if I were to get another one I'd get a black for the sole reason of less prone to dropeye.
