So my wife and myself tried a different chinese restaurant last evening. As we walked in the door I noticed the had a small koi pond, my wife said "Cool"!!! I said "ya it's okay", she replied "no that" while pointing to a large half round tank with a silver aro in it. Now this was cool, a 20" silver aro, giant gourami, blood parrot and a couple of red hooks, although the tank was a little small.
So the host sat us at a table near to the tank. As we were eating, I mentioned to my wife "wonder what they feed that guy"(aro). Not two minutes later I got my answer, a young lady walked in carrying two petsmart bags filled with feeder goldfish. The host then took the two bags, emptied one into the koi pond and the other into the aro tank
I estimated there to be 50 or so feeders in the bag. We then sat and enjoyed our dinners as the silver polished off 25 to 30 of the feeder goldfish.
I guess I never realized that a silver could eat so much at one time
