in front of my cichla tank,IL
i have a silver aro and is around 7inches or so and one of the barbels or wat ever u call it on the tip of the aros mouth well one of them looks like half of it is gone will it grow back?

I'll be honest...I want to say yes, but I've seen a lot of large Silver Aros with missing barbels and I don't know if they were recent or older injuries.

It may, or it may not..it depends on whether it is a new injury ( and if so it may grow back deformed ) or an old one, of which the stump may have scarred.

But it still is your Silver!

keep your water quality good and you may have a chance of growing it back..

From past experience with my Silver Aro...

It lost 1 of it's barbels, probably courtesy of the Oscar. Mine was about 14" btw. Anyway, what I did was do a 20-30% water change, add half a palm full of salt, something I call green solution(some solution by tetra for cuts and bruises) and ensured that the water condition was tip top until it fully healed.

So far, I've been treating almost any condition you could possibly think of with the above method.

A friend of mine got himself and RTG for $25 cos half it's tail fin was missing. Using the above method, it healed in no time as well.

thanks im using mealfix the stuff by api to treat wounds and stuff like that as for water quality i beleive it is good havent checked it since like a week or 2 ago did a 30% change yesterday and i also add aquarium salt

Good water quality ensures hope. Mine have ripped a little bit of theirs off before and they grew back. I don't think I've ever had one completely missing though.
