Greetings. I saw yesterday an RTC at the local pet store at about 8''. I own a silver aro that now he is at 17''. The pet store owner told me that i cannot put the RTC in the tank because there is a possibility in the future, the RTC to eat the Silver aro. Is that a fact or he is telling me bull****? Thank you.

At the current sizes, the RTC will not pose a threat to you silver aro. But it won't take any time at all for that RTC to catch up in size to your silver aro, and once that happens, there is a high probability that the RTC will eat the aro. If you don't plan on keeping them together permanently, you could certainly put them together. But you never know with an RTC when they are going to decide that their tankmates look tasty enough to eat.

I currently have a 7" RTC in with my 10" silver aro and I am keeping a close eye on the two of them as I am pretty sure that I will need to seperate them soon.

the rtc will eat whatever fits in its mouth. they grow very fast. i had one once. eventually it outgrew everything in the tank. and all the mates ended up as lunch. so yes there is a chance that your aro may oneday be food for the rtc. As long as the aro is much larger than the rtc you shouldn't have a problem. But eventually the rtc will outgrow the aro.
