I need some help. Some months ago, my silver aro was not acting as usual...sometimes he was lying at the bottom and softly shaking his head. A friend of mine reported the same behavior on his silver at the same period. Both aros are around 32 inches (3-4 years old in the tank)...they were eating fine, swimming normaly, but suddely they went down like that...

Mine is ok right now. My friend's aro was ok too, but started acting like that again...

What is going on? Could it be stress? breeding behavior ? What is wrong?

mine did the same too, eating and swimming fine just once in awhile it stay on the bottom and the mouth do shake, seem like making noises.

I say do a water change...that's not normal...

Tks for the tips! But I do water changes every week, 40%, and I have no problems with water parameter for so long....since I have sensitive fish, like Hoplarchus psittacus, and P. schroederi, and they are pretty fine, I don't think that was caused by poor water quality...My friends aro is getting better, but we have no clue what has happend...We did not see damages in aro's body....but could it be caused by stingray attack (poison)?

Hello everyone!

My aro is in the same situation yet! One thing I have noticed now is that my silver aro is eating with difficulty swallowing therefore I need to offer in a very small pieces... I have made a double check in the water parameters but everything is ok.

My arrow dose that when there's a lot of movement to much people passing by tank maybe that's way

well my aro did that and now I notice she laid eggs. This is my first time seeing it too, so very new to me and it doesn't work out as I have ray and all the eggs get eating by ray before the male can pick up any.

How can you tell a female aro from a male aro?
