I've read the recommended tank size for an silver aro, but was wondering if it would be possible to keep a silver in a tank with the height of 18, or 20" (footprint of 96"x36")?

Also if kept in a tank that is 18-24" in height would 12-24" bichirs become meals for the aro?

thats a very good question and ive always been curious about it while calculating tank size. always assumed 24" height was about the average. would like to hear from experienced people on this situation

bump for a good question

Yes it would be okay to keep silvers in a tank that is 20-24" height, and you mention that (footprint is 96"x36") that should be okay too... cause 36" would be enuff room for the silver to turn around, just as long as it is able to turn around and the tank is long enuff... should be good to go. :)
