I'm getting incredibly mixed information on the minimum tank size for adult Silver Aros.

Google searches brought up four foot long tanks.
There are a few here on MFK that have claimed I can house one in the 500 gallon I'm planning; http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?p=3635135
And there are people on other forums claiming I need a 12'Lx6'Wx3'H.

Can someone with actual experience keeping them please give me a minimum tank size?
(Helping me further by going to my other thread to see if they would fit in that tank set-up in your opinion would help too, btw! =P)

For max size of a silver aro thta has been properly cared for. figure at least 30" and up to 36" may be possible.

The silver aro in your tank would be better then 99% of silver aros will ever see.

Yeah 240 should be a bare. that's more than a enough room

Dimensions are better considered then volume, with that said I don't see any 240g that would house a 30"plus silver aro. Doesn't matter if it is bare, lack of decor doesn't add that much swimming room.

I meant bare minimum. people say a 75-100g is fine, any where from 240-300g is ok, short term, eventually 350g or so, the length and width are the biggest things here, width being equally important as length due to the immense length of the average arowana. dude your thing is an aro in a biorb!!?!?!
