Hi all, just wanted your opinions on whether or not this would work or not worth the risk: Could a 15cm Silver Aro be mixed with a 15cm Grey Giant Gourami? The Grey Giant Gourami is in with a 12cm pair of Uarus that he is constantly chasing all over the place. He will occasionally nip at the Senegal Bichir and the Gibbiceps (both about 15cm each) but nothing too serious. I am aware that there is no definite answer; I've got different opinions from different people, some saying they will be fine together, some saying definitely not and others saying grow the Aro a little bit larger then introduce it. All comments and opinions are appreciated.

I never had a problem with my red tail giant gourami and silver arowana combination.

However in my experience greys are more aggressive than the red tails.

If anything I would be bulking the silver up a little more.

If I separated the Aro with a divider and got it bulked up a bit, do you think it would be alright?

small gg's are worse than big gg's its all hit n miss.., 50/50 at best good luck!

my silver aro and rtgg fought all the time, but the aro was the aggresor. i had to sell my rtgg because the aro whooped its *** a few to many times for it to work out in the long run. the rtgg was in the tank first too. is just a hit and miss, you gotta try to really find out.

i wouldnt do it... i got a gg once before... it kicked everyone's tail in the tank.... that and the flowerhorn... and the flower horn used to be the boss but when this guy got it... the flower horns days were over unless i removed the gg which i did... and gave it away...

This would be a good idea providing that the aro still has enough room to feel comfortable. If cramped silvers will have a tendency to jump.

This could work out well though as you may get an insight as to how the fish will react with each other.

As you can see you are getting mixed results from people. This is just another case of what I call trial and error. It may or may not work.

Thanks for all of your responses everyone, still considering whether or not to buy it as silvers aren't cheap over here.
