What it says on the tin, will a silver arowana be ok with my 2 oscars?
i gave my silver to a friend because i was told my oscars would bully him.

my oscars are less than 3 inches in length, if i put a silver aro in at about 6" would he be able to hold is own?

Cheers.

I wouldn't put any aro under 12" with an oscar of any size. Once the arowana gets big it can work, but not always. I have my 24" aro with 14-15" and 12" oscars and it works out alright.

As much love, time and money that goes into raising an Aro, I say why risk it. It can work, it may or may not, but it sure wouldn't be worth losing the Aro. Oscars are known to be bullies in general. But then again, I have a 14" Aro, a 2" algae eater, a 2" clown loach, a 4" pleco and a small angelfish all together since October and they all get along great.......

I have a 7 inch arowana in a tank with 2 4.5 inch oscars, and they get along fine, the arowana is actually growing faster then the other two

i have 2 oscars with my aros, what u need is lots of fish lol. oscars become wimps and will never power ur aro. my 2 oscars are so occupied with gettin picked on by my fh and getting to food fast enough that they dont even kno what my aros are.

ive tried close to 8 different oscars from 2" - 10" with my 10" arow and non of them worked past 2 days... either got eaten (by bichir) or beat the arow up so bad he could hardly swim... best to wait until they are past a foot before adding an oscar with them ;)....also with 2 oscars IME they 'tag teamed' my arow had to seperate them ASAP other wise arow would be no longer.

I would make sure my aro is a lot bigger then my oscars before anything. Personally I like oscars but they are so sloppy at eating and poo so much as well that I wouldnt wanna put it in MY aro tank.:D

I find that my oscars are quite placid, my JD seems to rule he tank at the mo lol, being almost the smallest fish in there i was quite surprised!
