The lfs has a really awesome looking 8 inch pike cichlid they got as a trade in. Would love to put it in with my aro but i've heard the pike cichlids can be killers. Not positive on Sp. ID. I think its a orange pike cichlid though.

it depends on how big your aro is. generally in my experience pike cichlids arent terribly aggressive just highly predatory. 1. how large is your aro?

The aro is around 12 inches. His growout is a 125. Plenty of filtration and all that good stuff. Just had heard the pike cichlids could be evil. This guy is awesome though. Thick and healthy. Don't see em that big in my area ever. So id love to have him but not if he's gonna attempt murder on my aro lol.

though the temperment of cichlids can vary from fish to fish. (i once had an angelfish who ttacked and killed every other fish in my tank, and a red devil that got picked on by tiger barbs). you should be safe with this combo. your aro is big enough to handle his own. post picks when u get him, pike cichlids are some of my favorite fish.
