how long could i keep a silver aro in a 75? i am planning on upgrading and i currently building a 4'x4'x30" indoor pond, will this hold it for life?

At 4 by 4, the pond would only be as long as the aro! Is there a reason why you're planning this size (space constraints, etc.?) Ideally, the pond/tank should be three times length, and two times width, at minimum. So, I don't think an aro would work in this size pond, but if you could make it larger, you'd be good. Otherwise, he'll be swimming around in circles.

in a 75? how big will it be? i say atleast a year or less, depends how much you feed him.
i got mine at 10 inches and had him for almost a 3 weeks, with a one feeding a week, and he hasnt grown much. but with the pond, 4ft isnt enough... imo eff the building pond part, with the money from the pond build, you can probably by a decent sized tank to hold the aro.

If on the low end of the average growth for a silver aro you might get a year, 9 months is more likely and that's starting with a 5"er.

You going to need to double the length of you pond IMO, if you want to house the aro properly for life.

Thats just rediculous...if you cant afford the tank, then dont keep the fish, why try to slow down growth with one feeding a week...

The only reason I can see is that he is either cheap or lazy. I'm sure the fish aren't happy:screwy:

Only reason I could think of other than you being lazy or just plain stupid is not being able to afford the tank. btw, what ever happened to:
