Silver Aro's and Clown Loaches dont mix

I read that other MFKr's had clown loaches, and a few days ago someone posted about aro's not bugging them because of their spines. Well, my aro had just munched a new clown loach, so today I bought a 4" clown loach, eyeballed it, and said no way man, he won't eat this one! He didn't mind crickets or neons but before I could even get my money's worth, that loach was gone and the aro is all FAT and happy. Less than 2 minutes. (17" aro)

I have a 13" aro that has had 1" jag for a month now and he is still doing fine.

I think it's just down to the temperament of the individual fish. Many people successfully keep clown loaches with aros. I think it's also got a lot to do with whether or not you feed your aro feeders, as this makes them see all small fish as a meal..

if it will fit in the aros mouth, it could be gone...in this cast you lost a nice clown loach lol.....
I learned my lesson when I found a 12" aro hanging out of my 24" aro's mouth.

Wow, that's a loss. I have a 20" aro and it never bothers my 7 4" loaches. Better luck nxt time.
