If anyone didn't know I had a big acrylic bust a seam and lost my Silver Aro. Very very sad.... Anyway, I found a 12" that I put in the 8Ft tank with the Armatus (2).. He is a little scrawny, but in good condition from what I can see. 2 days and not eating yet though. I know it can take some time, but I wanted to get a little moral support :) , also he is breathing with his mouth moving a little which my other one never did. He doesn't seem to be stressed at all, but not eating or even remotely interested in eating and breathing with mouth has me a little concerned.

That a neat combination you have got. Your silver does look on the skinny side. I would test they water in your tank and check to see what kind of chemistry you have got going on. If the water is OK, you may have a bacterial infection or parasites that you will have to treat. Or just give your arowana some more time and see if his appetite returns.

Sounds like a plan. This tank went through a mini cycle.. I am assuming it is the bacteria on the sand that was dieing off. (This sand was out of my old 8ft. The FX5 was taken directly from my 220 as was 1/2 the BBs from the 220. Chem is good (or at least good enough that it should'nt have any affect. I just added some garlic extract and salt. I guess I will give it another few days. I asked the LFS and he said this thing was on peletes. If in a few days he doesn't "acclimate" I will maybe try some crickets or something.

2 hours after I posted thread he ate like 3 pellets so it is a start!!

very nice start, my aro wont even look at pellets or sticks but he eats up krill frozen or dried. curious... what does your Armatus eat? I have an 8" Army and a 6" aro in different tanks, I dont trust my army with an aro but lookin at yours I might combine em

He is just starting to eat. My old one that dies when tank busted ate pellets with no problems. The new guy is just starting to eat. I think he was pretty stressed out for a few days.
