silver arow with cichlid tank mates?

i wanted to start a silver arow tank with probably 2 silvers.
but i dont know what tank mates to put with them.
i seen some silvers with cichlids. i was wondering what would be the best compatible cichlds that would make it a nice display tank for a living room.
 
usually less aggressive ones, but check out Bderick's sig for pix of his silver aro/cichlid tank
 
Oscars, Severums, Blood Parrots, Peacock Bass.. etc.
 
How big are the 2 silvers going to be??
You might not want to mix any cichlids with them if there still juvies.

oh really?
i was thinking about getting silvers that were about 4 inches long.
maybe a bit bigger...

It's usually best to keep silver aros by themselves until they hit around 10 inches. They are very delicate till at least 8.
 
Good advise posted so far. There is somewhat of a balance with aros and cichlids. First off I would not add any cichlids untill the aro is 8 to 10 inches. Then try to get the cichlids big enough so they will not be eaten by the aros, but I would keep the cichlids no larger then half the length of the aro.

You are also going to need a very large tank for this mix. I would get the tank, then get the aros and add the cichlids later.
