Okay, so don't shoot me if this is in the wrong forum, instead of being in Freshwater Diseases.

I was lookin' at my silver Arowana(who after a couple hour drive to his new home had some issues) today, and noticed he's developping red dots on his face.

On one side, they appear to be indents, which have white on the edges of them and on the other the red is just now becoming apparent.
First thought was HITH, but after researching some, I can't figure out if Arowana do infact get HITH or not..

After reading most of http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/archive/index.php/t-6028.html , the only thing that changes my mind about this is possibly from the activated carbon I added to the xp3's two days ago. About the same time, his fins started to have a blackish tinge to them, and look like fin rot, but again I'm not sure. Any suggestions/confirmation of HITH would be helpful. I don't know what he was eating before he came into my care, but now he's on market shrimp, Hikari red and freeze-dried krill.

Sorry again if this is in the wrong section, I just figure I'd ask the people here to talk about Arowana, they may know better.

he looks pritty broozed up, no idea thou what might of caused it, sorry mate good luck with it anyways

not hole in the head.. just some scales missing.. he probably jumped and injured himself.. keep water pristine with regular water changes.. and he will be fine..

I know it's a bad quality picture, devil, but I assure you there are small red holes in the side of his head, with a white trim. The scales are missing from the transfer, yes.

i have never ever heard of an Arowana getting HITH... so if he did not injure himself there is a possibility of parasite infection of some kind.. i would rather think it is an injury for now.. and watch it.. if it does look like it is getting worse or infected then meds should be added...

I think I see what you are talking about. I defiantly see the missing scales. Did the fish look like this when you picked it up?
If the fish looked fine when you picked it up, and this happened from that time until you got it home. The I would have to agree with Red Devil. HITH will not this much impact on a fish with in just an hour or 2. What was the fish in when you transported it to you home. Arowan like to jump and will bang them selfs up pretty fast. As far as the carbon is concerned. It would not have had any ill side effects like blacking of the fins. If you did not rinse the dust off of the carbon it could suffocate the fish by sticking in its gills. Like Red Devil said just keep your water clean and he should be fine.

I do an 80% bi-weekly water change on the tank, and he lost the scales in transport. He was taken home in a styrofoam cooler provided by my LFS and lost scales upon removal from the original tank(A tiny 55g!) when he hit a piece of driftwood.

He's been in my tank for about a week and a half and is just now exhibiting these characteristics.

i would add some garlic oil to his water.. according to directions the right amount etc.. when an arow is moved.. it is a huge issue.. they stress.. they are nervous types anyway.. so adding garlic oil will help relive his stress.
