silver arowana community

hi, i have a 8 foot X 28" X 30 fish tank - 1321 litres 350 gallons

Could i have a silver arowana community? If so, how many arowanas could i have??

Many aros you can have. REALLY alot if you have super filtration ^^

yeah, filtrations amazing:
3 X eheim 2180s
2 X eheim 2078
and 2 big pond buckets running mechanical filtration.

Also 2 X eheim 222 internals to polish.

How many do you reccomend ??

While i am not familiar with western filtration brands. I have five in a 7' one (+bichir+motoro)

Does not look too crowded for now but none are fully grown yet. 20" is the biggest.

My new 8' is intended for 6 aros.

I would say in your case 5-7 aros seems like a good number ^^ to be on the safe side

my silver grew to 4 ft by the 4th year. aussie aro grows slower but gets to 3 ft minimum. i say with that filter system, keep 7 silvers and one aussie and add more when you have more room (new tank!). A couple stingrays and or bottom dwellers... enjoy!!!

i have never seen a 4 foot arowana.

i have 4 big silvers and a blue in same size tank all over 26 inches.

Thanks guys for the advise. Could i have rays in the tank aswell? Also, wha mid dwelling fish could i have? I would like oddballs??

i tried rays with my silvers and found that when the rays go up the sides of the tank they would spook the silvers.

i switch everything to asian aros now. but yeah, 4 ft long!!! ugly barbels, all it gots was size.
ray and aro size must be accordingly. ray pups are usually 3-4 inches disc. aros is should be 8-12 inches.
got 3 reds. each tank has an aro and three rays. marbles.
