Hey guys, again,

I am addicted to MFK now and just want to ask 2 questions:
1)How many superworms should I feed my 7" Silver Arowana (Twice a day)
2)How can I stop other fish from eating my Aro's meal? My Oscar just waits under my hand all the time....

Thanks

i used to just feed my oscar his food first and let him pig out till he couldnt move. then i could feed everyone else.

I would try to get some variety into the meal plan. Plus, superworms (you mean the giant mealworms, right?) are actually really hard to digest. If you look in their poo, you'll see the shells inside of it. Sometimes you'll see the shells floating at the top of the tank, also. So they're unable to digest those.

Yeah guys, I know they are hard to digest but my arowana really loves them... I have a few friends who ONLY feed his asian with superworms and it is living very healthy. I may also change to those dried shrimp in the can and will de-head the shrimps before feeding is that alright?

Thanks

Freeze-dried foods lead to constipation, and so between the super worms, which he can't digest, and the freeze-dried foods, which cause constipation, this is a recipe for disaster. Try a good pellet or stick as a staple, instead, and then treats could be varied. Here's a link on feeding Aros:

Mine does too, I dont go feeding them superworms as a staple...if thats what your friends do, then your friends are pretty fail. Pretty sure those aros have or will develop internal conplications. Key to good diet is variety. Krill and superworms are 2 things that SHOULDNT be staple. You should be feeding pellets or frozen raw shrimp as staple. Like others said, read that feeding sticky, follow it.

as to feeding the aro instead of the aro. for my aro who competes with some parrots and a catfish. i throw the food in front of the aro and left her dart ahead of compeititon. i can get 4 out of 5 pellets to her

Gshock, I read online that Arowana's can only be trained to eat pellets once they reach 10". It says because the arowana gets hungrier faster under 10".... But if its over 10" you have more time to train it.

Any Ideas?
Thanks chiclid for replying.
