Well, if you have read my trumpet knives and elephants Thread you will know that my 8” silver arowana had to move out of his 6ft grow on because I had 6 Botia eos which were making his life a misery nipping at his fins and making him jump into the glass.
Having lost his sight through stress and shock he spent 3 months in with the knives and elephant nose in their 4ft grow on.
In there I could hand feed him fish strips and mussel by splashing the surface like a distressed insect then placing the food on his barbles.
Over the three months he has regained much of his sight and is now almost a foot long.
Having managed to strip down his six foot tank and remove the botia eos I could then put him back.
Probably a few fish still to remove since I also added my 9 geophagus red head tapajos too and the tank is certainly busy now.
Only his grow on so will see how he gets on with his tank mates.
Have added some more floating cover in the form of duck weed and Indian fern after the vid was taken which has decreased the light intensity. Albeit this will need constant replacing as the barbs think it’s lunchtime all the time now.
