I have a 7inch Silver in a 75 gallon Dimensions 48=L 18=w and height Im not sure about like 20 or something. He has just switched to my 75 a 55 growout. Hes very active but lately hes been having some problems in my 55 i had a large Algae bloom which clouded the water so i switched him. in Both tanks he started leaning back, Like he is swimming straight then hes tail like leans back. I tryed feeding him at normal time and he didn't seem interested this took place in both tanks he swam near the food but didn't eat it, it looked like he wanted to but just couldn't. Whats going on someone help me please

Well lets start with your water params. What are you ammonia and nitrite levels as well as nitrate, pH and temperature? How often do you do water changes? Any other fish in the tank with him?

ph of 7.1
nitrate 5.0 ppm
ammonia 0
nitrite 0

Tank mates are:
Gold Suam 4"
Oscar 5"
comm Pleco 6"
Tarpon 4"

Temp 76 Degrees
Water changes every 3 days

Was he eating good in the 55g before you switched to the new tank?

Hard to say since there has been a move involved. Could be that your aro was stressed in the 55g and that moving it has added more stress. You'll just have to watch over the next few days to see how it does. Hopefully the tankmates wont add to the stress.

Tank has been covered for 2 days and feeding at normal times during the day. Ive noticed a new problem. His Pectoral fins seem to be degrading. The have turned black twards the back and have slowly started dieing or at least the Fin tissue is i can still see the cartilage where the fin tissue should be connected to. ill try to get pics but any idea's?

This is my Pride and joy please help

I think i found it on the Arowana info merged i didn't think anything of it but one of my other fishes had a problem with ich but was quickly separated.

8. 'White Spot' Disease
This disease is very common among fishes. It originates from a type of ICH bacteria. It can multiply alarmingly fast, and can flourish at body temperature 25°C from a single cell to 3000 over cells in a hour. Under high temperature, it can stop multiplying and even die.

Cause

ICH bacteria only attack the fish with low resistance. The bacteria suck up the body fluid of the fish. The affected region looks like white powder.

Symptoms

At initial stage, the disease affects mainly the fins. The fish that has been infected with this disease tends to scratch itself against the sides or bottom of the aquarium to rid its itch. Its appetite deteriorates greatly and fin ends starts to rot. Lastly when it attacks the gills, the fish may die.

The illness should be arrested at once as it is highly contagious.

Cure

1% salt
0.8 gm of Quinine in every litre of water.
Use available commercial preparation from Aquarium shops.
Warm the water by increasing by 2°C to 3°C in temperature and adding air-pumps to increase the oxygen level in the aquarium.

In the process of treatment, the Dragon Fish should be fed nutritious food so as to build up its physical resistance. Upon recovery, it is advisable to disinfect the entire aquarium.

Can anyone help me confirm?
