Yeah, right onto the floor, sometime in the middle of the night.

Y'all should be really careful when setting up your tanks.
(This is more for less experienced Aro keepers, like myself.)

Make sure that your fish is going to hit his head anywhere he decides to jump.
Otherwise, your wife might yell at you at 6:30 a.m. telling you that your fish is laying on the floor, and stiff as a board.:(

Stupid 2"x 5" gap between the corner and the filter.
Oh well, now I know.

Feel your pain. Recently lost a 20" Black to the same thing. I was on vactaion and had a tank sitter coming by to feed them. One morning she called and said the fish was dried up on the floor. Weird that it managed to shoot out through an opening so small, thought I had all the bases covered.

my jar as jumped into the cover glass and pushed it off the tank and onto the floor!! hehe pure power!

Sorry to hear that. We learn from our mistakes, such is life.

Big thick lids, big heavy objects weighing the lids down. Good things to do. :D Sorry for your loss.

ouch. unfortunately yeah they have that habit of jumping out from the tank even fitting theirselves thru the smallest holes in the tank. sad. may he r.i.p. so are u getting a new one?
remember to put a heavy object on top of the lids too. they dont only jump, they can push ur covers too!

You know a friend of mine had a little five inch silever arowana and she had her tank sitting almost on the floor. Well she also had a dog that is about 14-18 in. tall. Needless to say the dog was drinking out of the fish tank and the fish jumped into the dogs mouth and was gone. The dog also ended up eating some angel fish eggs also, but that's a different post.
