Silver arowana question

I have a 11" silver arowana and was wondering if the blue tent and coloration along the fins will fade as it gets older. Do all silvers get this when they are young and how long does it last?

Generally, silvers have a pinkish tint when juvenile. Blue/black aros have a blue/black tint to the fins when younger. As silvers age, the pink goes away. I've never kept a black but I believe the black fades as they age as well. So my guess is that the coloration you are referring to will fade as your fish ages.

It will fade. For the others talking about blacks, it doesn't.
