Does anyone know how to determine the sex of a silver Arowana wether it is a male or a female?

Absolutely no way when they are juvie.. maybe when they get bigger. but that is also a lot of assumptions.. check out this old thread by bderick67 (brian) there is some info.. and some more threads if you search..

a lot of people will tell you about the size of the jaw.. i also think the pelvic fin in a female aro does not go past the anal fin.. its short.. but the pelvic fin for the male is otherwise.. it is longer.. but the best way is you know only if the aro lays eggs and thats close to impossible in a home set up..
