please suggest some tank mates for a 7 inch silver. he is currently with 3 senegal bichirs and a pleco. the reason i want some tank mates is because he does not eat infront of me was hoping if he sees tank mates eating he will start also. trying to get some datnoids but hard to get and expensive. so thought of 2 tiger oscars ? would tht be a good idea ? or would they attack the arowana? thx :]

Adding tank mates won't 100% ensure it would eat infront of you. I reckon you spend more time infront of your tank so that it would get use to having you around. Patience is the key
As above mate spend some time with your fish. Fish are belive it or not like dogs you gotta earn their trust.
i try spend alot of time infront of the tank. he wont eat arowana sticks infront of me but when i drop a piece of meat he attacks it and eats it all... so idk whats up with him. but il try spend more time infront of him and see what happens. but what do u guys thk about the oscars ? like my friend had an arowana with 5 oscars and the next day he found his arowana with its stomach hanging out (like torn off) ... so is this likly to happen to mine or is this jst an isolated case ? his arowana was about 5-6 inches and the oscars where about 2.5 inch. the oscar i was thking of getting is going to b 2-2.5 inch
Hey mate.. could you post some pics of your setup? tank size etc? oscars are super greedy.. they will chow through everything you throw at them.. prob starving your arowana in the process.. patience is the key like others have suggested.. your aro will get to know you are the guy feeding it as time goes by.. meat? what meat are you feeding the aro? and by pellets what pellets?
ok will try post some pics. meat like chicken or shrimp. he was on hikari food sticks b4 now for some reason its hard to get over here so his now on azoo arowana sticks not pellets sry. tank l120 xw50x h55 cm planted tank filteration 1400 l/hr internal filter. but upgrading by november. i had oscars b4 had to sell them cause i had a delay on my tank and they where geting big. Im building the stand and tank myself( 160x60x50) but since im doing it as a school final project i cant post pics of the build and stuff till its been moderated tht means till January.
