i want to sell my silver arowana and i was wondering what it would be worth... its 18'' and is healthy, it eats good and is quite active. It has drop eye on just one of its eyes. dont know if it male or female

honestly i think it depends who evers buying it and willing to pay what ever price your gonna be asking for it. so it depends

depending on what it eats and how the barbbels are around $100. my 24"+ i sold before for $150 and my 23" silver i traded out is up for $129. those have perfict fins, barbbels. my 24"+ had one half barbbel that it ate. yet my 15" silver that got beat up has torn fins and no barbbels, but they are starting to grow back is set at $50-60.

This is a good question. How much are aros worth? Well how long is a piece of string I guess....

I am looking to buy my first Aro and may start a thread to that effect.. how to value Aros and what makes one more "Valuable" than another...

Will do some searching first, but so far have not seen anything to help me evaluate what a reasonable price for an Aro is... Difficult because there must be much "subjectivity" not "objectivity" in the judgment.. hmmm

In the UK a large silver is worth next to nothing and in most cases you are lucky to give one away with drop eye

Most people want to buy them small and grow them hoping ( not much chance ) that the one they got small won't get drop eye

The problem is that once a silver gets to big for your tank is probably to big for a average size tank to meaning the buyer will need a big tank to home it right away which slashes the size of your Market

x2. Usually, if it's a private sale, the bigger it gets, the less its actually worth.
