Our Silver 18" Silver Arowana suddenly stopped eating about three weeks ago. We have tested water quality and its ok, did the water
changes, Have both a floval filter and a top filter plus a large air pump for plenty air circulation. Have tried a variety of foods that it used to
eat like shrimp, calamari, meal worms, earth worms (favorite treat) mouse, feeder goldfish (last resort- dont like to feed live foods) wint even touch
crickets. used to jump at moths and now she just freaks out for no reason and bangs her head into the tanl walls like all of a sudden like possessed lol
even is more agressive and bit my wife while scooping out dead worm. It has bare glass bottom so no crap ever accumulates in the tank. A fish guy in
did some research and though epsom salts was the answer but did not help. Its not pooing either but then its not eating. anyone got any ideas???

Size of tank?

Silvers fast, sometimes.

Possible- like i said hate to feed live foods but trying anything to intice it eat. We did give her otc parasite treatment..didnt change anything
still not eating, banging its head in to tank walls for no apparent reason like agitated and still overly agressive when wasnt before. What do you
recommend as far a parasite treatment. Have it in holding tank to treat it.. 55 gal..YES WAY too small but it would seriouly hurt itself in our 200 gal tank
the way its acting right now. This way we can monitor the water quality too. Has Plenty of room to swim but keeping it subdued right now due to its frenzy outbursts

was 200 gal- acting very strange nd hitting head against tank walls and damaging scales on head and sides so put in 55 gal tank holding tank to
subdue it.. Can also monitor water quality and keep pristine..water quality is not the issue however. It has plenty of room right now to swim
but only hovers in one spot until it gets frenzyed..

Moving large arowana will generally keep them from eating for a while until they get used to the new suroundings. I suggest you move him back to the 200g. No way a 18" silver is going to feel secure and be calm in a 55g tank.

I recently moved my 20" silver into a new 300 gallon tank he did not eat for over 2 weeks and was stressing out one day just went back to normal eats like a champ again. Just relax and give him time.

You say 18" here but on this thread you say 2 feet---->http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/f...4-Lre-adult-silver-arowana-wont-eat-x-10-days which is it? You also say 3 weeks on this thread and on the other thread he says 10 days.

Really? You do realize that his other thread is 6 days older then this one, so that 10 days you are crying about is actually 16 days, right? :duh: He also stated "about three weeks" so could be what 18-19 days? Really you ballin' about a difference of 2-3 days while your fish are dying from non running filters and your plants are dying of thirst. :screwy:
