Hey guys, just joined the forum and this is my first post here! I've had my Silver Aro for a little over a year now and just wanted to post pics of his progression until now for fun.

But yesterday I noticed that he had a scar-like wound or somethin' on his right side (the second picture), and it looks like a slash that went all the way up his body and into his fins (looks like he lost a few strands from his dorsal as well). He's currently housed with a striped needle-nose gar (of almost the same length as him) and an iridescent shark (about 2/3 his size).

Does that damage look like he bumped into something, like maybe the driftwood there? Or is something else going on like a sort of disease? (He loves the driftwood, if he's not doing his laps about the surface of the tank, he's circling through the driftwood constantly, lol)

Welcome to MFK ☺ Looks like an abrasion or heater burn.

Hey thanks for the comment! Yeah he may have bumped my heater in the back. He's been acting up as of lately too, so I'm not sure what's going on. I got him to come up and eat his crickets today but this morning when I first checked on 'em he was chillin' at the bottom for a moment.
