hi every1 im new to this site and too arowanas can you tell me what il need to get to keep 1? thank you

Not sure anyone can tell you everything. You will need to take it upon yourself to do some research. I will tell you this a silver aro is not for the lazy fishkeeper.

They grow fast, within the first 18 months it will be two foot long. So the tank size will need to be large right away. 180 gallon 6' x 2' x 2' is minimum for a 24" aro, and it will outgrow this within a few years also.

They do best in very clean water, so heavy filtration is needed along with large weekly water changes. Feeding is not hard, they can be trianed to eat a variety of foods. Though live feeders are not recommended as most are not healthy.

If you are a fairly new aquarist you will need to learn the "Nitrogen Cycle" as it pertains to the home aquarium.

Do some research and then comeback with specific questions.

Well the first thing you should do is your research, start reading about everything you can about Arrowana's. Start there, look on these Forums all this wonderful compilation of information all in one spot. Once you have a basic understanding of what your getting into, ask some questions. No matter how much we tell you here in this thread you will need to gather your own information and move on from there. Good luck and looking forward to seeing you become a successful Arowwan keeper!!

Also for you just finding this site, your one step ahead of the next guy trying to do the same thing.

oh ok thx lol
