I an thinking of getting another silver arowana. 2 years ago i had one that was 3-3.5inches but it died after 5 days. He was in a 55 gallon tank good filtration. An emporor 500 the temp was 75-77 his ph was 7.5-7.9. When he died he would flounce around the tank swim eratic he was doing good for the first 3 days eating he had know tank mates. Any idia why the died

that may be impossible to find out now. the description you gave could be any number of things. i was told that baby aros have a survival rate of 30%. i am currently raising a baby silver and she is doing quitewell, knock on wood. give it another shot. sounds like you had it right, just may have had a sick fish. you do know you will need a larger tank in the neer future though. but a 55 is a great starter.

Hard to say, if ya get a new aro though try for at least a 6 incher. Go with a higher temp to 80-82 degrees. If you do go with a smaller aro, find out the pH of the water he is being kept in at the LFS. Adjust your tank to that pH and then over 2-3 weeks adjust to the pH of your tap water. This can be done with small (10%) frequent (daily) water changes.
