Alright everybody, I've got a question for you all. FIrst, let me start off by saying that I really want an aro, and they usually have them at where I work (petco), which is sad because most of them meet an early death I'm sure. I've got myself a 350 gallon tank, thats broken off into a 250 gallon, and 100 gallon section. In the 250, ive got 4 caquetaia spectabile, 2 geophagus abalios, 4 cichlasoma oblongus, and 4 heros sp. rotkeil. What I want to know is, if it would be alright to introduce an aro to that setup. Am i gonna lose some of the smaller guys. anything i need to worry about. Figure I have the room, so why not get one. :D

A rule of thumb is to ensure that all tank mates are larger then the aro. Being said that you'll also have to ensure the tank mates are not aggresive towards the aro. A delicate balance. Also aros grow very fast and you'd probably end up with a huge guy before you know it. At that stage you might find that your tank mates starting to disapear. ;)

def. wouldnt want that, since the other guys are still in a juv. stage. the largest is one of the spectabile thats about 4 inches or so.

Then perhaps you'd want to consider adding an aro when your fishes have grown up. ;)

thanks for the info guy. I'll wait until they grow up a bit.
