Silver Arrowana fading color

why is my Arrowana fading it's color by the tail. It looks likes its turning dark Gray in both sides. I notice hes belly getting larger but it could be me freaking out.
Water changes every week 30-40%
Fx5 for 225g
lrg Arrowana, pleco, clown knife
0 nitrite
0 amonia
40 ppm nitrate
7.4 Ph

Juvenile silver arrows have color that adults do not. Their color simply fades as they get bigger. I love how the babies look, but as adults I find them to be boring fish partially for this reason.

Ed--now that you posted a picture that doesn't look like it was recently a juvenile, haha.

how big is it? looks ok to me. like said before they tend to lose that reddish hue to their color asthey get bigger. yours looks good though

He is Eating jumbo shrimp, tellapia,some pellets. He is about 27"
