Today I went to a small garden centre not knowing they sold fish but they did, they had a about the 5ft mark tank with a silver arow, oscar and rtc in a didnt know these could live together can they? The oscar must of been about 8 inch the arow 6-7 inch and the red tail 6-7 are these fish actually ok together the oscar looked alot bigger because of its depth would that not be a issue? Tell me your thoughts of having a set up like this? Or if any of you have???????

hey marc.. i do have the three in a combo.. just that the tank is a little larger than 5 ft.. 
as long as they are well fed i dont see a problem and a large tank.. but at this size tank and fish.. the aro could be the one who gets the beating.. aros are best kept with this combo when they are above 12".. but once (and if) the RTC hits its max.. the oscars are def at risk..

It can work. One just has to take certain precautions when introducing territorial fish. We all know how territorial oscars are. I had my silver first. Once he became established, I introduced the 2 oscars, which were smaller than the arowana. I've never owned a red tail cat and never will. They're just too much fish.

i had this work before in fact i had many fish combo that work when others said it wouldnt. the key is to the fish together at a young age and keep them well fed. another thing to keep in mind is that what works for some may not work for you. all fish are different and it all comes down to trial and error
You can find many examples of young arowana here being eaten or killed by RTC of the same size or smaller. Same goes with bring bullied, killed or just heavily stressed during feeding by Oscars. Putting this combo together when young would create a much higher risk then assembling the combo when the fish are young adult.
i did have this combo a while back with all mentioned fishes being sub adults to adults. worked fine for a while until the oscar wrecked havoc.
