Post pics, and you got lucky if this is true as blacks are rarer/more expensive and imo better than silvers lol.

I know, it would be amazing if it really is a black! They are way more expensive and are very rare around here since of late..I have another black almost the same size in the same tank and the new one looks just like him! Maybe the LFS found it hard to tell bcos honestly this guy is pretty badly beat up so maybe his colours were all faded...

He's currently housed with a RTG and another black around the same size as he is...

i have heard someone had one but i dont know if it is true

I doubt very much that a silver and black have been cross bread. However I have been told that I may have a cross between a black and a blue arowana:D

So you never found out about the one that some guy posted and said it was from an asian aro farm? I was curious about that?

I have not heard of a silver x black cross... but there are hybrids within Scleropages spp. (banjar). It's always possible it could occur and I'm sure someone could cook one up in a lab if they were so inclined.

Only within Asian ones AFAIK, so some would argue that they are all the same species so not really interspecific hybrid.

The real question is why would you cross them? So you could get a slightly chunkier but less colourful black that is more prone to drop eye and PLJ?
