getting babies soon...should i start them all together or have them in diff tanks till they are like 5"...they will most likly have egg sacks on most of them...i am torn as i got a pair one had the egg sack and the other didn't...the bigger one(by a 1/4") killed the little one...i would have 8-11 aros in a 55gal to start if they were all together...

I would start them all together so they can get use to eachother quicker for less aggression. Also if u go with seperating them then that means more tanks which takes up space, more energy costs from equipment for the tanks. If there is any serious issue with aggression between them just have 1 or 2 spare tanks set up and ready for them to be split. Better then running 8 small tanks. U can also use tank deviders too.
Look at my old threads, I did the same thing with what you are planning to do. I had so much plants in there and that didn't even stop the fights between them...all had ripped fins and I did get flamed by some people here on MFK...I eventually sold all of them and wouldn't hesitate to do it again...
I guess yours could have a different outcome, but mine were all the same size (2"-2.5" with egg sacks) and were bought at the same time. They lived in the 55 gallon all the way to like 8" until I finally sold them. But I wish you the best of luck! And keep us updated!

Well to me having an Asian community tank u will always have fighting and aggression between them. Doesn't matter how many. U just have to decide wether u can deal with seeing them with split fins or worse.
Likely the arowanas will determine whether or not you can keep them together. Didn't work for me with 5 baby blacks, had to raise in separate tanks. There are some who have had no problems with multiple and others that have ended in total disaster. You just have to wait and see once you get them.
i just am hoping that with there being like 8-11 of them the beatings would be spread out...i would hate to wake up to 10 dead aros and 1 swimming like the badass of the tank...
