No. Polota are only freshwater. All dats are freshwater.Does Silver Datnoid (Datnioides polota) need brackish waters? I see mix reviews on google?
are they slightly brackish water naturally? i don’t know much about them at allI'm going to go against what seems to be the consensus here and say that in my opinion for a silver dat to really live out his full possible lifespan a mild brackish is required.
That is mostly why despite being quite common in the hobby you rarely see full grown speciments compared to indo dats, which are 100% freshwater.
No. Definitely freshwater.I'm going to go against what seems to be the consensus here and say that in my opinion for a silver dat to really live out his full possible lifespan a mild brackish is required.
Have you kept one? Obviously I haven’t but been doing research in the past 24hrs, I saw previously owners say they couldn’t get them over a year old in pure freshwater. Then had better luck again doing it in brackish overtime.No. Definitely freshwater.
