Just wondering if I could keep a few silver dats in a 75G with some senegal/delhezi bichirs? Thinking about getting a 75G because its suuuuper cheap at my LFS and would look perfect in my upstairs room. So yeah, could a few AT's be kept in a 75G for life? (48''x18'')

for life... maybe not.. but for a while you could.. and those tank mates seem fine

i have 3 senegal bichirs with my 5 indos and they are doing great

Cool. AT's seem to be trhe smallest dat, so I'm thinking I'd be able to keep them in the 75g for longer. I'm thinking of getting about 4. After they outgrow the 75, I will probably put them in a 120 with some more polypterus.

I do think you'll have to much luck with 4 AT in your tank. with the right filtration you may be able to get away with 1 or 2 as they most liekly wont get larger the a foot.

With 4 at, plus other fish, you will deff need to upgrade after a while.

Yeah, I wouldnt mind upgrading at all. I was thinking of Maybe getting a single species of another type of dat and keeping it with the polypterus. Would a single dat be ok in a 75g with a few polys, or would it need to be an AT because of tanksize? Thanks...

Also, I was thinking, why not just get a Widebar/Thinbar, or three, and once they get to big for my tank, sell them and get three more with the money I made from selling them? I meen, theres probably going to be a big market for dats for a long time to come, so why not?

Its an option but keep in mind that ST arent easy to find and their numbers are dwindleing in the wild, and their isnt any evidence of any successful breeding. So the Market for Pulchers may get smaller and more expensive as years go by.

I see what youre saying. But in a good long time when the Dats get to big for my tank, I would potentially have three very exspensive fish.

I dunno though, Was thinking about maybe just getting one AT and some other fish along with Three senegal bichirs(1 normal, 1albino, 1platinum) 1 Delhezi, and 1 Palmas.
