I just watched my red hook silver dollar bite through a plastic leaf...
i feed it romaine lettuce everyday and it also eats my cichlid's pellets while they are feeding.

should i offer it more veggies? or will it learn on it's own that plastic in inedible:irked:

did he spit it out or swallow it? if he continues to do this i would take out the plants

no it didn't swallow it, just spit it out..just did it because it could i guess.

it only seems to do it when i put real veggies in the tank.. it will take a bite of the lettuce and then swim over and try to nibble on the plant...then it appears to pause realize it tastes like crap spit it out then repeat the process lol

I would take the plants out for precautionary measures. I wouldn't want to lose a redhook.

Or go buy some cheap live plants for it to munch on
