the largest i've heard of are the red hook silver dollars. there are other larger than normal sivler dollars, but they are almost never online or in a lot of lfss

The black bar really, Myleus schromburgki i have one that 8" but my biggest is my 9" redhook

If I'm not mistaken, I think the Mylossoma SD's are the largest. They are supposed to get about 12"

Yep species of the mylossoma genus are the largest, some in the wild can top 14-16" apparently.

Ive never seen any of the mylossoma species for sale in shops and only ever seen a few and that was at a public aquarium. Ive been told that they travel very badly and need lots of oxygen and shipping in large bags with just a single fish in which makes them very expensive due to the freight charge. Although i have a customer at work whos got 2 or 3 and had them for 19-20yrs now.
