It can survive but first how did it lose the eye

Are you sure that's a SD...? Or is it in with piranha?

I had some grow outs pluck a few eyes in one of my Festae spawns. They seemed to do just fine with one eye. I ended up using them as feeders but they were doing great prior to them becoming lunch for my motas when I had them

If GT is aggressive divide or remove SD, btw SD'S are a shoal species .

I have 6 it's my 2nd tank with them now. Just duno if I should leave it in the tank or take it out. My gt is new last owner told me he not aggressive at all

The photo is not clear on what's wrong with its eye, but it looks like it's filled with blood, I have seen fish recover from what looked like serious eye injuries without going blind, so give it some time.
I have a Cory without any eyes and it's perfectly fine, it's my biggest cory as well.
