silver dollar mysterious marks

hey, i have 2 silver dollars there are a new addition to my tank the have withe marks on there sides.. it dosnt look like whits spot im just thinking because i have 2 of them could it be aggression to each other do you suggest getting more or do you know of something else??

Got a pic of the markings? Does it look like bite marks? I've got 6 bbsd and the two males are the only ones that got markings on them, well mostly on the smaller male.

ill get photos!... it looks like there missing bits of there slime coat's... uhh also on there fins theres a little bit missing and it has gone white :/

do you have pleco in your tank? or any other algae eater fish? because those algae eater could have sucked up your SD's slime coats as it happened with mine. Adding salt and heater should fix it. SDs are pretty hardy fish to keep.

ahh yes i have a common pleco and a bristle nose catfish.... that could be it!!! thanks ill try salt and bum the heat up a little bit

And get 4 more if you can and your tank will support.. 6 would be a good minimum for a shoal..

Are there anything other than the common pleco, BN, n silver dollars in that tank? If not maybe it is the pleco that's attacking the sd.


Btw what's your water parameters? N size of your tank? Could be factors also...

ammonia is 0 trites 0 trates 20 (need a water change haha) its a 92g corner unit there are also angel fish and a bristle nose!
