Silver Dollar questions.

I've been thinking about adding some 'flash' to my tank and I've heard some good things about silver dollars. Essentially, I need to know how big they get. I've read a ton of different websites and none have the same info. Some say they only get 3 inches, others say 8. So here I am looking for info. oh, and I have a 75 gallon tank.

They get about a 8 inches, eat almost everything, are never full, and really active. Also they will destroy any plants

Yup plants are a no no. Great fish in large schools of around 8+

I have mine in a 55 right now but they are only an inch. They would probably do fine but, if you have in a 75 and some other fish your going to need some good filtration.

Current stock is a Green Terror and 5 Polys. I've got an Fx5 and fluval 305 for filtration. Sound reasonable? lol

there are a number of Dollar species. I would go spotted dollars. smaller and better looking in my opinion.

Awesome! I'm guessing I won't be able to find spotted silvers at petsmart or petco?
