ok well here we go again i have a pair of rainbows that are getting ready to breed and now it seems like my silver dollars are starting to mate. they are swimming next to one another and shaking and rubbing up against one another. so where do they usually lay there eggs and and do they get defend there terratory when they lay there eggs. now i wish i had a 3rd tank because they are in a a cichlid tank and my rainbows are in my 29 gallon breeder tank lol

One of my smaller SD's exibited the same behaviour with a larger yelow hook. If that was part of the mating ritual, congrats. I thought that the behaviour was just one fish trying to be dominant over another.
Mine do that some times, they look like a male and a female but I have never seen eggs or anything.
