What are the chances of Silver dollars working as dither fish for a small jag, gold saum, and a dempsey? I realize that it wouldn't take long for the cichlids to outgrow them and pose a threat, but the cichlids are all about 2.5-3.5 inches right now. They are in a 55 until they get a little larger, then they are going to be split up with the saum and dempsey each getting their own tank and the Jag will eventually be in at least a 75 by himself most likely.

I haven't had any problems with silver dollars and my cichlids. Though my SD's are all around 5". They can take a pretty big beating and they're so tall large cichlids can't eat them.

yeh they are brilliant very fast and good for real aggressive cichlids.

I dont have any issues with them. They are very fast and can usually get away from a quick chase. They can also take a bite every once and a while and keep going, excellent fish, plus they add lots of movement to a tank.

Thanks so much for the help guys, thats exactly what I wanted to hear.

good to here it.

They work great for my large cichlids but they will destroy any live plants if you have them.
