Hi,10 days ago one of my SD appeared without the upper jaw. Looked like someone hat bit it off. As I was going away for holidays, I made a preventive salt treatments and increased temperature. The fish continue to eat and the wound did not increase.I went away and Sunday, when I got back, another SD was starting to have the same problem. So, I believe it is either a fungus or a bacteria causing it.Here are the quick pics I took yesterday:the 1st one

Have you seen this before? What treatment do you recommend? My idea was to apply methylene blue, but am waiting for your inputThanks in advance

I hate to sound like a broken record but it's probably Columnaris. It's everywhere and can infect any open wound or sore.

Try erythromycin, oxytetracycline, chloramphenicol, kanamycin, etc.

Jeez one of my silver dollars has the same problem! At first I thought it had been bitten on the face but than I realised it might be a severe fungal infection. Im on day 5 of treating it with Pimafix but it stil looks terrible and Im on this site trying to find a solution.

For some reason I can't get the pictures to work. Where they acting sick before you treated with the meth blue? Some Sds get errosions from hitting the glass on their upper jaw. If the were acting fine before the meth blue treatment it might have have been the meth blue that killed them.
