Silver Dollars Scared

I have 7 Silver Dollars. They live in a 85 Gallon tank with:
Green Terror : 6 inch
Green Severum : 5 inch
Liporinus(torbpedo stripped fish) : 7 inch
Clown Pleco : 2 inch
Walking catfish :8 inch

The silver dollars are 4-7 inches long, fully grown and have been with me for over about a year now. They have plants to hide and swim around. When I feed them, all my fish wait until I leave to eat. When I'm cleaning the room, fish will go besurk and swim into the sides of the tank and each other. The tank walls are painted brown. I have dual t5 lights illuminating the tank.

What am I doing wrong? I don't the fish to get hurt. But they seem to be very scared of everything.

Silver dollars are like that i have a group of bout 20 in a 6x2x2 with lots of plants they are all 6-9" and they still get scared, they are a nervey fish.

Ok, thanks. Is their any way of calming them down more? I don't ant them to get hurt.

I have the same problem. I am only using one tube to light the tank and try to create shaded areas. I am trying to put a bit of food in the tank when I approach so they do not associate movement around the tank as being a bad thing.

yeah, i have the same prob, it's just they are nervey but it's quiet funny to hear " donk donk donk " when you turn your back after feeding them. i just resine to the fact that i can't do nothing about it and enjoy them...

I added more fish to the tank and now everyone seems to be doing much better. They all swim around now insted of sitting in the corner.

never had the problem of scared SD's......hell mine come front and center whenever i am around. they looking like a bunch of starving(overfed) dogs begging for food...

I have had my silver dollars in the front room for 9 years. They are spooky fish , when I stand next to the tank.
