I'm looking for tankmates for my cudas. I was thinking of getting 4 or 5 silver dollars because of their size and body shape, but the tag at big al's was yellow. Are silver dollars aggressive or fin nippers? Will they beat up my barracudas?

So far in the 125g I have 3 cudas, 1 pleco, and 1 rainbow shark. The tank looks empty. Would silver dollars be a safe addition to the "community"?

thats a tough call my yellow-tail barracuda has been very peaceful to his tankmates but i dont know it might be a individual to individual type thing. but im almost positive you'll be ok if any fish you buy are the same size as the barracudas. you dont have to worry about the silver dollars bullying the barracudas trust me on that one.

by the way i bought a wolf fish at about 4-5 inches when my barracuda was about 7-8 inches and the next day the outline of the wolf fishes body was in the barracudas stomach so buy the SD's at a large size

Thanks, man. That was my biggest concern.

I think behavior wise, they should get along great. From what I've read, they're both "flighty" mid-water fish from south america that like open water. And their tall shape will hopefully keep them out of the cudas' stomachs.

I wonder why big al's stuck the yellow tag on them.
