Silver Dollars

I found out by surfing the forum looking for dithers that most of you guys keep silver dollars. I would like to know why they are so popular?

To sum it up- they won't be out competed for food, they're quick and can take a beating and they're always active so they add some life to a tank. Some of them are actually nice looking too depending on what species you buy.

Not normally aggressive and a variety of types give a variety in markings and size.

Cichla guys like them because they are a great dither, help clean up scraps of food and have a lot of movement .

These reasons pretty much sums it up....they're basically the perfect dither in most cases, and they come in many different shapes, sizes, colors, and patterns.
