Silver dollers in my Oscars Tank !

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I had 4 silver dollars in with my oscer before and that was in a 55gl. So IMO you could do it in a 180gl. Mine were pretty fast and dodge and stay out of the oscars way. Of course just make sure they are big enough not to be considered food.

Thanks dude !

I have never kept them befor so would like them to complement my other fish !

Yeah danny, i know you want MY redhooks which will work the same, an yes they do eat like slobs.

My oscar didnt like them went nuts chasing them into a corner.prolly work better in your 180g more room

if you can, just to be safe you might want to remove the oscars from the tank and then add the silver dollars. after a couple of hours and the SD's seem to be settled in then you could add the oscars back in. or at the very least give the oscars a big feeding just before adding the SD's. either way you should be ok. SD's are very quick and have the odd shape that would make them difficult to eat, even for a 10" oscar and a 180 should provide plenty of space. I think 8-10 sounds like a great number...so long as you can afford to feed them all.

You can also consider tinfoils and bala sharks.
