Hello =^_^=

I saw a a silver arowana being kept in a giant indoor pond, and i asked what they are feeding it and they said pellet sticks and pointed to the bag of koi pellet sticks beside the pond. I think it was tetra koi pellets sticks for color enhanching.

Now i know certain fish will eat any thing you throw in the water... and since this aro was eating koi pellets sticks, if i threw a hikari stick pellet or a bunch of algea stick pellets in there it would probably eat it no problem.

***But i was just wondering if this was safe for the aro?? the Koi Pellet sticks.**

the fins of the silver aro had red in them which im guesing came from either the koi pellets sticks (that keeps koi bright orange /red) or another diet of shrimp/krill or something that has high in carotine...

***Is it possible the Red coloration on the fin could have came from the staple diet of koi pellet stick that enchances red color in koi???***

Just out of curiosity. If any one knows why =^__^=

The red finnage is from there genes, I've kept a few silver aros and some have it much brighter than others while some no matter how much FD shrimp you feed them won't turn red. The color enhancement in the koi pellets could make it brighter though :|

Whether the koi pellets are good or not, I can't see why not they have most of the basic nutrition other pellets have, in the long run im not sure though. It does save money though :D

Oh Hell Yeah it saves Money!! =^___^=

Cuz regular large size Hikari Aro sticks cost 44$ While the Koi Pellet Stick Bag
Which is way Bigger cost either less or almost the same price.

Hmm about the color i asked a pet store owner and they said sometimes if your lucky picking a silver when it is young, they will get that red fins on them genetically.
And then i saw this other store selling smaller silver aros, with fins that are red... they are like about 10 inches only while the other one i saw in the indoor pond was about 20inches. Im guesing the smaller aros were feed with a red enchanging food, cuz i looked at the bottom and it looks like their feces are red in color.. unless those are just the pellets that werent eaten and broke apart making them look like red feces lol =^_^= any ways

hmmm thank you guys for the input

Would love for someone to show me a picture of a mature silver aro with any difining amount of red coloration on the fins or tail. I sure it isn't gonna happen. By the time the silver ghets to be 30" they most all look the same, hold for platinums, blacks, or snows.
